Bio:
Imari porcelain, named after the port of Imari in Japan, was exported in large quantities to Europe from the 17th to the 19th century. Characterized by its distinctive color palette – cobalt blue underglaze combined with iron red, green, and often gilding – Imari quickly became one of the most sought-after types of Japanese porcelain in the West. These plates represent the artistic fusion of Japanese decorative tradition and international demand that defined the period.
