Garibaldi Lindberg (1863–1957) was a Swedish artist active around the turn of the 20th century. He is particularly known for his symbolist-inspired paintings, frequently depicting mythological themes such as centaurs—a motif influenced by Franz von Stuck and Arnold Böcklin. Lindberg enrolled at the Royal Academy in Stockholm in 1886 and quickly became Georg von Rosen’s favored student, earning several scholarships. In 1893, he received a commission to paint an altarpiece for Luleå Cathedral. During the 1880s he traveled across Central Europe, and upon returning to Sweden he continued both painting and illustrating, including for August Strindberg’s Swedish Fates and Adventures
