Biography :
Kjell Hobjer became known for his characteristic paintings of geometric, human-like figures, often referred to as ‘old men’. These works often expressed human vulnerability and criticised contemporary society.
He also created public artworks, including murals in Kungsmarken, Karlskrona, and the sculpture ‘Gubbkvinna’ in Ronneby.
Hobjer started painting at the age of nine and made his debut at the age of 14. He worked primarily as a painter, but also experimented with materials such as glass and metal.
