Description:
Ring size 58.The ring is hallmarked - 925S BH. In the shaded area it says "Handmade"
The ring is with two purple semi precious stones, amethysts, cut as thistle buds.
Bernhard Hertz (1834-1909) completed his apprenticeship as a gold smith in 1858. His exam piece, an arm ring, was purchased for 300 Thaler (old danish currency) by King Frederik, who gave it to Countess Danner. The arm ring is exhibited at Designmuseum Denmark, formerly known as Kunstindustrimuseum.
Hertz used the money from the sale to build a workshop in Store Kongensgade.
The workshop and the front house were listed as protected in 1985, and therefore it can still be seen on Store Kongensgade.
